I studied studio art at Brown University, specializing in artists' books and printmaking. My study included courses in drawing and painting. During this time, I exhibited sculpture and prints in several student exhibitions. After graduating, I enjoyed taking courses in design, watercolor, printmaking, and book arts at The Art Institute of Boston, The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and The Kaji Aso Studio. I am currently working on illustrating a children's book that I wrote with my brother, Tom Tolman, about the trials and loves of Bertha Bat, and her various animal friends. Some of my other interests include playing acoustic and electric guitars, quiltmaking, and dying wall hangings. As a freelance designer for 20 years, I have worked with a wide variety of artists, musicians, and organizations. My clients include: |
